First Impressions

Darkness so complete you can't even begin to see even your nose when you go cross-eyed. You hear a sound like an owl hooting and the creak of something wooden moving. "MOVE!" You hear someone shout at you and the wind gets pounded out of your lungs as someone tackles you violently to the ground. You open your eyes and everything is bathed in an eerie green glow. You look around for your savior and spot someone sitting next to you. Once you've caught your breath you sit up and look at him, about to thank him the words catch in your throat as you notice his elongated face and long muscled tail. "Why do humans always manage to get themselves caught in the worst places?" He grumbles and you realize that he's talking about you. Growling you punch him in the arm, making him look at you. "I'm right here!" You snap angrily as he looks at you, surprised that you hit him. "Sheesh, sorry." He says, putting his hands up by his head. "Glad you're alright at least." He states before standing and dusting himself off. You find yourself examining him without meaning too. Two flamed, fingerless gloves sit on his arms. One of them goes nearly to his shoulder the other just below his elbow. Navy blue jeans sit on his hips and his feet have black, steel toed, boots on. Around his neck you notice he has a long rope, a fang attatched at the end.

"Where am I?" You ask, suddenly aware that you have no idea where you are, and how this strange Draik managed to find you. "You're in the Haunted Woods, deep into the heart of the Haunted Woods actually." He explains as you stand up. The draik bends down and picks up a halberd from the ground by his feet. "Come on, I'll lead you out. I know the safest ways out of here." He says, fixing you with his brilliant green eyes. "Alright... thanks uh..." "Alarmm." He supplies as you begin to follow him out of the woods. "Thanks Alarmm." You finish awkwardly. "Don't mention it." Alarmm states with a shrug, sending his long red hair tumbling across his shoulders. "Since we're here, might I be able to get to know you?" You ask and he glances at you before shrugging his flamed shoulders. "Sure, why not."

Diaries of the Prince

Prologue
Disclaimer: My friend Seliphra wrote this part of Alarmm's story because she was kind enough to help me out with making Alarmm's plot. Rhedoran is her own designs and will be a major part of Alarmm's entire life. So I take no credit for this part of the story.

Rhedorhan sighed softly, making his way into the dungeons of his manor. The lab had been built there, and quite a lab it was. He was rather proud of himself really, for being able to mix science with his own magic’s. The draik yawned, stretching his wings as he came upon what he desired. He shifted from his draik form into his anthro form, pushing the long blonde hair out of his face. His wings folded to rest comfortably upon his back and his fingers ghosted over the form beneath the cloth. Yes, this was the one. The only ones he could revive where draiks like himself, the lingering magic in their bodies assisted with retying the soul. This one had to have the body restored first. His first revival had become mutated, permanently disfigured by this over sight. That was a failure at any rate, the creature had run off. He would not make the same mistake twice.

He collapsed into a nearby chair, bent forwards so as not to hurt his wings. The blonde looked up at his finished work, quite proud of himself. The fire draik was complete once more, his body in the perfect state it had been in during life. He smirked, running one hand through the soft red hair that sprang from the still-dead draik. “Soon, my pet. Soon you will live again, and you will serve me,” He chuckled at this thought, a cold laugh. Those who heard it felt their blood freeze, though he was alone now, his usual mask of gentlemanly behaviour gone. He smirked again as he began, turning on the machines. Then began to filter the gelatinous, coagulated blood from the dead beings body, replacing it completely -or as close to completely as was possible- with fresh blood. He had been sure to get the same blood type, knowing the consequences of getting the wrong one. The next machines began to work now, forcing the heart and lungs into action. So far it was perfect, all that was left was to wait for the body to warm itself and then he could begin the spell to summon the soul down.

An hour later and the body had warmed itself again. The body was now alive, but without a soul the entire thing was futile. He shrugged out of the jacket he wore, knowing the strain he was about to experience. He shivered in anticipation, the desire for his experiment to work nearly overwhelming him. Nearly. He calmed himself with a few breaths before beginning the ancient chant,

“Ego voco vos ut is plagiarius, ut victus vindicatum, exorior o unus animus, quod suo vos iterum ut crusta vita. Ego to order vos o animus of is quisnam est mortuus, adveho iam! Suo iterum per vestri corpus ego! Ligo vestri ego ut vestri vetus somes! Ago orior oriri ortus ago!!” (I summon you to this plane, that the living claim, come forth o alone soul, and join you once more to the shell life. I command you, o soul of he who is dead, come now! Join once more with your corporeal self! Tie your self to your old body! LIVE! RISE! LIVE!!!)

As he chanted, repeating the spell again and again, the small bluish orb descended, entering the body. The body upon the table had spasms, twitched and jerked as it became truly alive once more. Many years had passed since this one left, but now he would live again, and it excited Rhedorhan to know that this being would be his to control.

The fire draik sat up then, blinking blearily. “Welcome back, Alarmm,” Rhedorhan said smirking. This one would be his, he knew. He laughed again.

Beginnings

Alarmm blinked a few times, his eyes adjusting to the light, colors, and shades again. He had spent over a thousand years in the land of the dead. He shivered at the sound of the voice that spoke his name, the same voice that had dragged him back from his sleep. He moved gingerly to look at the other, his brilliant green eyes locking onto Rhedorhan's crystalline blue ones. The blonde smirked when he received a response. "Good, can you hear me, Alarmm?" He asked. His eye's shimmered, and it would have been beautiful had his eye's been less frightening. Alarmm's freshly flowing blood froze in his veins once he clearly heard his voice. A look of sheer terror placed itself across his features and he made to move away from Rhedoran. He began to panic as he noticed his body was moving slowly still, unused to the need to move.

"Now, now, I won't hurt you," He murmured, a false soothing tone in his voice. "You've only just woken up, you shouldn't try to move just yet," He said. His voice was soft, gentle, and entirely false. His warrior and killer instincts set in just then, washing away the stiffness and rigor left in his body. He used his tail to flip backwards, his foot connecting harshly with Rhedoran's chin. Alarmm landed smoothly and easily on the floor and looked around, looking for a weapon. His brilliant red hair flashed wildly as he leapt for the halberd that had been frozen with him. Rhedorhan growled dangerously then,
"Congelo! Subsisto tractus illae unus!(Freeze! Cease the movement of this one!)" He yelled, the magic springing forth, directed as he had told it.

Alarmm's hand had just gripped the shaft of the weapon when the spell hit him and sent him tumbling to the ground motionless. He made an anguished howl, having long forgotten how to use his mouth to form words. He fought against the spell that now held him fast. "You can't break it, Alarmm," He chided, a cruel smirk having placed itself upon his lips.
"Really just a waste to try, now, will you listen to me?" He asked, a false gentle note resonating through his voice. It would fool most. Alarmm merely snarled, his grip on his weapon tightening, his entire being fought against the spell. Somehow his own dormant magic’s shattered the spell binding him and he rose easily, twirling his weapon around a few times before sliding into a battle stance.

Pointing one finger he then said, "Habitum! Servo an infragilis etiam in is res!(Hold! Keep an unbreakable still on this being!)" He snarled, the magic shooting from him. He was lucky he was a Faerie Draik, otherwise he would be at the same level in these aspects to the Fire one. He was thankful now too, normally cursing his abnormal beauty and strength with magic’s. Alarmm shrieked in sheer anger as the spell hit him and he froze up. He snarled, wishing he could utter the counter spell, but he couldn't remember for the life of him how to make his mouth work. He had spent far too long dead and frozen in the glaciers of Terror Mountain.
"Now, I suggest you behave yourself. It took quite a lot of work to get your body here all the way from Terror Mountain. We are between Kiko lake, Britevale and the Haunted Woods, by the way. Now, I am your master, do you understand this? Blink once for yes, twice for no."

He did neither, he merely pulled his lips back over his teeth and snarled, he wasn't going to be a slave for this ass that brought him back. He had waited too long to rest peacefully to have been dragged back so suddenly. Gods how he wished he could remember how to form words. "Acer poena,(Stinging pain)" He growled, "You will obey me!"
Alarmm shrieked in agony, his entire body tensing with the pain of the spell. He snarled, forcing the pain to the back of his mind, focusing on remembering how to form words.

"Fulcio is poena is sentio , planto is amo haud alius!(Strengthen this pain he feels, make it like no other!)" Rhedorhan growled. He was angry now. Why didn't he obey him? Alarmm bit back the pain, his mind wrapping around the ancient memory of speech. His lips pulled up into a smirk and he locked his gaze upon him. "Terminus! Effrego alica ut redimio mihi!(END! Break the spells that bind me!)" He shouted as loud as he possibly could, the spell shattering in response and he stumbled a little, grinning that he had remember how to speak.

Rhedorhan's eye's widened in alarm and he cursed under his breath, "ATTERO! Terminus is res vita!(DESTROY! End this beings life!)" He screamed in rage and the spell shot out of him. Alarmm quickly shouted the counter right back, ending the spell before it hit him. He longed to die again but at the same time now that he was alive once more he wanted to try again, to start with a clean slate. He turned and ran from the room. He knew his adrenalin burst wouldn't last him much longer. He had to get away, and he had to get away as fast as possible.

Enraged the Faerie Draik followed, resuming his Draik form as he did so, He took off after the other being, shooting every spell that came to mind as he chased him. Each spell Alarmm knew the counter to, and he would quickly say it in order to keep the spells from hitting him. He was quickly short of breath, his body unused to the extended exertion. He stumbled as he came to a cliff face. "Oh crap..." He mumbled to himself as he looked at the hundred foot drop below him. Rhedorhan landed behind him, "You’re stuck now! Unless a one-hundred foot drop is something you do on a regular basis, which given how long you've been dead, I doubt." He decided not to mention the option of escaping in to the Haunted Woods. Alarmm's head whipped from side to side as he considered his options. He smirked.
"Don't doubt my abilities." He retorted before breaking into a break neck run for the Haunted Woods. If only his body could last him that far. Allow him to escape into the deep shadows of the Woods.

He growled, but did not pursue when he realized the direction that Alarmm was headed. The Woods had become enormously dangerous over the last century.

Alarmm stumbled and tripped the last few feet into the woods, his dark skin hiding him wonderfully in the deep shadows. He bit back a cry of pain as he felt his muscles give out on him. He lay where he landed, sprawled across the ground under the branches of a mutated oak. Despite where he was he couldn't help but smile. "Can't believe I got away." He whispered.

Learning the Woods

Alarmm sighed as he lay there, exhaustion setting in faster then he thought was possible. He smiled softly, just glad that he was able to get away from that wretched man.
Alarmm sighed as he lay there; exhaustion setting in faster then he thought was possible. He smiled softly, just glad that he was able to get away from that wretched man. He didn’t notice Illoriyan, who stretched the half-rotted wings on his back and sighed as he crept closer to the edge of the haunted woods. He didn't dare leave. That was where HE was. Rhedorhan. It didn't really matter he supposed. He looked around, starting when he saw a figure trying to catch their breath against one of the trees. He gulped, adjusting his cloak automatically and moved closer. He only wanted to ensure the other was alright. After all, few would willingly rest against a tree in the haunted woods. Alarmm sat up and looked over as Illoriyan approached. All traces of exhaustion vanished as his mind registered that Illoriyan was even there. His scales puffed up and out to make him look furry and he jumped about three feet into the air screaming in terror.
Illoriyan coward then. Of all the reactions, it was the one he had been expecting....it still startled him and he fidgeted with his cloak again. Only a single eye and his right hand were visible.

"I'm sorry! Please don't hurt me...you just...I was worried...and you....and I..." He trailed off uselessly then as his words failed him. He just hoped this one didn’t try to kill him. He got that a lot too lately. Alarmm ducked behind the tree he had been resting against and peaked around to look at Illoriyan again, his heart pounding, his weapon carelessly discarded by the roots of the tree. He calmed down a bit at Illoriyan's words and he stepped more into view, his scales flattening against his skin once more.
"Geez, you scared the shit out of me." He stated dumbly, and Illoriyan sighed softly,
"Yes, I seem to...have that effect on people..." He muttered sadly.
"Uhh...if you don't mind my asking...you're aware we are in the haunted woods?" Alarmm nodded in response and went over to his weapon, picking it up again before leaning heavily against the trunk of the tree, exhaustion taking over again.
"Yeah I know, it's the only place that bastard wouldn't follow me." "Hmm?" Illoriyan’s cloaked head tilted to the right and his visible eye looked curious. He found himself sliding down the base of the trunk, his eyesight blurring and fading into blackness.
"Don't... know... his name." His voice was trailing off as he collapsed to the ground.
"Uhh...oh no! You’re not okay!" Illoriyan panicked before dragging him away from the potentially dangerous tree. The one next to it had a face. He moved them to a small burrow, he'd dug it out himself and it was ....relatively safe.
Alarmm lay motionless for several hours. The only sign of him still being alive was the steady rise and fall off his chest. After five hours his forest green eyes fluttered open and he groaned.
"You're awake!" Illoriyan exclaimed, busily chasing off another ghost.
"Thank goodness! I was beginning to worry!” Alarmm sat up, a hand on his head and he groaned again, his body felt like it weighed a hundred tons.
"Geez... I am really not used to being alive again." He grumbled as he attempted to stretch out a little and only received a stiff movement from his legs in response. Illoriyan paused then, looking at him.
"Alive? A-again?" He stammered. He never expected to meet another of Rhedorhan's experiments
He nodded and leaned against a wall for support, "Yeah, some faerie draik brought me back. I had been happily sleeping the eternal sleep when I got dragged back here. Then he mentioned something about me being his slave or something." Alarmm explained, waving a hand almost dismissively.
"Rhedorhan?!" Illoriyan gasped then, it really was him.
"If that's his name, then yeah." Alarmm said looking at him confused, his long hair falling in front of his eyes a bit. He flicked it back and tilted his head to look at Illoriyan more carefully. "Do you know him?" He asked, his voice gaining a deadly tone to it, a warning that if Illoriyan meant him harm he'd kill him first.
"Yes, I do...because he brought me back too," Illoriyan murmured, his eye sad.

Alarmm looked at him, his jaw dropping and an idiotic look painting itself upon his face. "Whoa... so I'm not the first?" He asked stupidly.
"No...I am, apparently he decided to restore your body before bringing you back though..." He murmured. He wished the same had been done for him. In life he had been a beautiful shadow draik...now he was mutant.
"I don't think you look that bad." He stated truthfully, which was rare for the draik. He had built his life on lies and even more intricate lies.
"Yeah, well, I'm wearing a CLOAK now," He stated. He was revolting under the cloak, it was why he wore it.
"No really? I couldn't tell." He stated, his voice dripping with sarcasm. He merely looked closer at Illoriyan.
"Sooo.... show me." He said with a grin on his face. Illoriyan fidgeted before removing the cloak. He had a few spots where the bone was visible. The cloak also kept the stench of half-rotten flesh hidden. Alarmm reeled from the stench of rotting flesh and coughed as the moist smell filled his nostrils. He pulled his hair around to cover his mouth and nose. Tears lined his eyes from the smell alone.
"Wow... you must've been dead for quite some time." He commented softly, "but I've seen worse." He added on, still being truthful. Illoriyan pulled the cloak back on, not bothering to hide his face, the stench diminished once more.
"Yes. I was deceased and buried for six years when he dug me up." Alarmm let his hair fall away from his face and he breathed deep the now stench free air.
"Huh, I've got you beat. I was drowned in the ocean, eaten by sharks and other creatures until I washed up on Terror Mountain where I was frozen in the glaciers for at least a thousand years." He said with a small chuckle. Illoriyan smiled then and nodded,
"Yeah...guess you're right!" Alarmm extended one of his gloved hands to the other and smiled,
"So, shall we team up and watch each others backs?" He asked with a grin.
"I...yes!" the Mutant draik replied happily. He hadn't had any friends for a long time. The fire draik gripped Illoriyans hand and grinned stupidly.
"With the both of us watching out for him he won't stand a chance." Illoriyan nodded, but he looked uncertain. He knew how strong Rhedorhan was, and how thoroughly angry he would be to learn his two 'projects' had teamed up.

Companion

Remora

(proper pic of Remora coming)
You jump a fair bit as out of the shadows of a moving tree comes what looks like a little shooting star. Alarmm extends his right arm and the object wraps around his bicep on command and seems to put itself out most of the way. You gasp as you realize that wrapped around Alarmm's bicep is a Kazeriu, it's little yellow eyes fixed upon you as if you're a threat. "Easy Remora, they're not a threat." Alarmm states calmly, a small smile spreading across his lips as he looks at the tiny petpet on his arm. Remora looks up in responce to it's name and sighs. "This is Remora, my companion through thick and thin. He's pretty strange seeing as he's never left the woods. Illoriyan and I were actually pretty shocked to see him hanging around. Remora's name is a name I remember from my first life. It was the name of my original companion, a black Fangy that went with me everywhere. Remora's name sake was a girl though, but the name just stuck to him." Alarmm explains as Remora unwraps himself from Alarmm's arm to wrap around his neck instead, like a little scarf and he makes a contented noise. Alarmm chuckles before stroking the little creature's head affectionately.

Blood Ties

Claire

Mishizoko as she's commonly known, is the woman who helps me hide from Rhedoran. She's surprisingly devious despite her sweet looks. She says that people call her Devil's Angel for that reason. I'm beginning to understand why. What shocks me the most is she isn't afraid of the woods, she willingly comes to the very heart of the woods alone to see me. She even brings her sketch book on occasions and she draws me. Very strange lady.

Rizzen

(New picture coming soon)
Rizzen is just as odd as Claire is. Rizzen Claire apparently found beaten and bloody in a field near Merridell. She brought him home and nursed him back to health. He's got a complete case of Amnesia and only remembered his name. He comes with Claire to the Woods every day and he sits and talks with me. I try to help him remember his past but he always just ends up passing out whenever he gets close to remembering. The thing I find the most odd about him is that he loves flowers and always wears a circlet of them around his head, and for some reason he's got roses and other flowers tattooed around his eyes. He's just weird.

Gyl

I barely know Gyl. She doesn't come around much, which is ok I guess. She says that if she comes into the Woods too frequently all the negative charges of the woods and people in it throw off her fortune telling. Although she can only read the sad, and tragic things that will happen to people. I don't want to know what'll happen to me so I make her stay quiet when she offers. Surprisingly she's a very bubbly person.

Raven

I don't WANT to know Raven. He's got the same kind of emotionless nature as Rhedoran, I wouldn't be surprised if those two actually are working together. Raven is Gyl's counter part in the fortune telling business, but he can only tell the good things that will happen to people. Unlike Gyl though he's extremely down in the dumps, like I stated before, he's pretty much emotionless.

Alimendra

Ali is on the run from something. I'm not entirely sure what she's running from, but she always seems to end up dragging me into her problems at least three times a day. It gets annoying after a while. When we stop running for a bit she's really sweet and very, very kind. Apparently in her herd she's considered cursed and is meant to be killed. I don't know if that's what she's really running from though.

Loyalties

"Illoryian is my first friend. He's like me, the dead brought back to life by Rhedoran, but unlike me his body wasn't restored like mine was before he was brought back. He's still rotting basically. It's gross to look at when you first see him, but when you get to know him he's really sweet and his exteriror is a complete 180 degrees different. He and I help each other to hide from Rhedoran, although us staying here in the Haunted Woods helps insanely. For some reason Rhedoran won't come here."

Seimai

"Seimai... He's... well... he's different. I don't know much about him but he too can hear the voices of the dead, and see ghosts. He came into the woods once and he's gotten himself and me into all sorts of trouble already." He sighs and ruffles his hair a little, almost as if frustrated. "He's a very odd Shoyru, but seems nice enough. I barely know him right now, but considering the trouble he manages to get us both into... I'm sure I'll know him well enough in no time. Geez... he's worse then Ali."

Enemy

Rhedoran is pretty much my blood enemy right now. I owe him thanks for giving me back my life but I mostly hate him because he forced me into life again and then tried to make me his slave. He's a Faerie Draik and acts gentalmanly but he's wicked and cruel. He's manipluative and very dangerous. Illoryian and I were both brought back by this guy... but we don't plan on ever returning to him. He's just plain evil.

Chainer of Hearts

"What on earth are you going on about?" He asks before bursting out laughing. "I'm not into anyone if that's what you're wondering about. I'm quite happily single and my heart is free to do as it pleases." He continues past his side splitting laughs.

Art/Fan Art:

This is my concept sketch apparently. As you can see I've evolved IMMENSELY from this. It's a horrid picture and design idea. Yikes...

The second picture Claire ever drew of me. If only she knew what I looked like before this.

Oh man... I can't believe I freaked out like that when I first met Illoryian. Sorry man.

Claire asked that I pose for this one. I have no idea why she wanted me too, but it looks alright I guess.

Poems:

Sound the Alarm

Exhaustion so profound
It has no bounds
A sleep never ending
Silence never bending

An endless sleep, that should not break
Broken by an evil make
Slender arms that hold no flesh,
Broken ears, endless hush.

Drawn away from endless rest
Broken body moves its best

Flames burn the lifeless corpse
Screaming like a breathless horse

Silver lining, filling, mending
Each and every joint re-bending
Lungs long dead scream for air
While eyes and ears begin repair

Sound the alarm
For Alarmm has come.

Prince of Death

Murderer of a thousand lives
Thought to be of Hellish lines
Killer of a million souls Hotter then a bed of coals.
Skin of ash
Breath of death
Piercing through a million chests
He looks to kill
Looks for a thrill
Prince of Death
Long sought dead

Life All Ending

Can you see it
Fading softly?
Broken likes
The cut so deeply
Silver strings
Long forgotten
Given wings
To go a haunting
Words so cruel
The ring, all ending
Never sending
Endless mending
Giving in
To darkness so black
Content to breath his last
Giving in
To sleep eternal
To be in peace forever

Leaving the Woods

Alarmm comes to a stop in the shade of a normal looking tree, the errie green glow having been replaced by the natural yellow/white light of the sun. You blink as your eyes adjust to the normal spectrum again and you smile, glad to be out of the woods at last. "Thanks Alarmm! I never would've-" You begin to say as you look at where the other stood only to find him having vanished back into the deep and eerie shadows of the woods behind you. You catch a glimpse of his flaming red hair and a flash of light off the blade of the double edged halberd that the draik carries. "Thanks Alarmm." You mutter to the shadows before leaving the trees behind you and you step into the bright light of a Britevale meadow. A few yards out you look back, wondering if you'll ever see the mysterious Draik again.

Lyrics

Carry on Dancing

The moonlight
Shines down interstellar beams
And the groove tonight
Is something more than youve ever seen
The stars and planets taking shape
A stolen kiss has come too late

(In the moonlight)
Carry on keep romancing
Carry on carry on dancing
In the moonlight
Carry on keep romancing
Carry on carry on dancing

You're never safe till you see the dawn
And if the clock strikes past midnight
The hope is gone
To move under the Moon

(In the moonlight)
Carry on keep romancing
Carry on carry on dancing
In the moonlight
Carry on keep romancing
Carry on carry on dancing

Closer, passion, stronger

There's a magic only two can tell
In the dark night
Ultra violet is a wicked spell
The stars and planets taking shape
A stolen kiss has come to late

(In the moonlight)
Carry on keep romancing
Carry on carry on dancing
In the moonlight
Carry on keep romancing
Carry on carry on dancing

Moving on, moving all night
